Terms of Service
Effective September 16, 2026
Fixiv Solutions, Inc.
These terms are the agreement between you and Fixiv Solutions, Inc. ("Fixiv", "we") for the Fixiv iPhone app and the fixiv.app website (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect and how we use it; it is part of this agreement.
The short version
- You must be 18 or older to hold an account, or have a parent or guardian who agrees to these terms on your behalf.
- Fixiv Premium is a subscription billed by Apple. It renews automatically until you cancel it in your Apple ID settings. Deleting your Fixiv account does not cancel it.
- Your photos stay yours. You give us permission to process them to run the Service and, unless you turn it off, to improve our appliance recognition.
- Fixiv gives general maintenance guidance. It is not a substitute for a qualified professional, and some tasks should only be done by one. When a guide says to call a professional, that is the guide's advice, not an option.
- We do not host manufacturers' manuals. When we link to one, it belongs to them.
1. Who can use Fixiv
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. If you are younger, a parent or legal guardian must create the account, agree to these terms, and remain responsible for your use of it. Fixiv is offered in the United States; if you use it from elsewhere, you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for local law.
You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details private and for what happens under your account. Tell us at [email protected] if you think someone else has used it.
2. Your account and your homes
A home in Fixiv belongs to the account that created it. That person can invite others to share it, remove them, and delete the home. People invited to a home can see and edit its appliances, tasks and notes while they are members. If you are invited to someone else's home, the owner controls that home and can end your access at any time; your own account and any homes you created are unaffected.
You can delete your account from inside the app at any time. Deleting your account removes the homes you created and everything in them for every member of those homes, and ends your membership in homes other people share with you. This cannot be undone. Read section 4 before you do it.
3. Fixiv Premium and billing
Every home needs an active subscription on its owner. Fixiv Premium is sold as an auto-renewing subscription through Apple's App Store, monthly or yearly, at the prices shown in the app for your country. Members who join a home by invitation do not need their own subscription.
Free trial. New subscribers may be offered a 7-day free trial. Apple allows one trial per Apple ID for Fixiv; if you have used it, you will be offered the subscription without a trial. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, your subscription starts and Apple charges the price shown.
Renewal and cancellation. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period at the then-current price, and Apple charges your Apple ID within 24 hours before renewal. You can turn off renewal or cancel at any time in your Apple ID subscription settings (Settings › your name › Subscriptions). Cancelling stops future charges; it does not refund the current period, and you keep access until the period ends.
Refunds are Apple's. Because Apple bills you, refund requests go to Apple under Apple's terms. We cannot issue refunds for App Store purchases.
Deleting your Fixiv account does not cancel your subscription. Apple controls the subscription, and nothing we do on our side stops the billing. Cancel in your Apple ID settings first, or you will keep being charged for a service you no longer have an account with. The app tells you this before you delete.
Price changes. If we change the price, Apple will tell you in advance and the change will apply from your next renewal after that notice, subject to Apple's rules on consent.
4. Your content
Your photos, appliances, tasks and notes are yours. You keep every right you have in them. You give Fixiv a licence to store, copy, process, analyse and display them, and to send them to the service providers named in our Privacy Policy, for the purpose of running and improving the Service for you. That licence lasts while the content is in your account and ends when you delete it, subject to the training use below and to copies in backups, which are overwritten on our normal rotation.
Training use, and how to turn it off. Unless you turn off "Improve appliance recognition" in Settings, we also use sanitised copies of the appliance images you capture during a video walkthrough to train and improve the on-device recognition model that makes Fixiv work. The Privacy Policy (section 4) describes exactly what is kept, how it is sanitised, how it is tagged, and what happens when you opt out or delete your account. In short: turning the setting off stops new collection and removes what you already contributed; deleting your account lets you choose to keep or remove them; and images contributed before July 2026 cannot be traced to you and so cannot be removed on request. This licence for training use continues for as long as you leave the setting on and, if you chose to keep your images when deleting your account, until you ask us to remove them.
What you must not upload. Do not upload content you have no right to share, content that identifies other people without their consent, or content that is unlawful. Fixiv is for photographs of appliances and homes; we reserve the right to remove anything else.
Video never leaves your phone. During a walkthrough the video is processed on your device and only still frames of detected appliances are uploaded. That is a description of how the Service works, and we will tell you before we change it.
5. Our content
The Fixiv app, its design, its curated maintenance guides, its schedules and recommendations, and everything we generate for you are ours or our licensors', and are licensed to you, not sold. You may use them for your own household maintenance. You may not copy, resell, scrape or redistribute them, or use them to build a competing service.
Manufacturer manuals and third-party documents. Where a guide links to a manufacturer's manual, a parts supplier, or another site, that material belongs to its owner and their terms apply. We do not host manuals; we link to them. We may extract factual information from public sources (such as a recommended filter-change interval or a part number) to build our guidance.
6. Acceptable use
Do not use the Service to break the law, to interfere with it or its security, to access other people's accounts or homes, to send us content in volumes or forms designed to disrupt the Service, or to reverse-engineer or extract our models, guides or data. We apply rate and size limits to keep the Service available for everyone, and we may suspend or close accounts that abuse it.
7. Notifications and email
Fixiv sends local notifications on your device for upcoming and overdue tasks. You control these in Settings and in iOS. We send email for account matters (confirmation, password reset, home invitations, replies to your reports). We do not send marketing email without asking you first.
8. Changes to the Service
Fixiv is under active development and some features are offered as beta. We may add, change or remove features. If we discontinue the Service, we will give you reasonable notice and a way to get your data out.
9. Guidance, not professional advice
Fixiv provides general information to help you look after your home. It is not engineering, electrical, gas, plumbing, structural or safety advice, and it is not a substitute for a qualified professional.
Appliances differ, homes differ, and we cannot see yours. Identification of your appliances, the schedules we generate, and the step-by-step guides are produced with the help of automated systems, including AI models, and may be incomplete or wrong. Before you act on any guide: read your appliance's own manual, follow its safety instructions, and stop if anything does not match what you see.
Some tasks must be done by a licensed professional. Where a guide is marked "call a professional", it is because the task opens a sealed gas, refrigerant or combustion system, requires judging something that cannot be seen, is licensed work in most places, or carries a risk we consider unacceptable for a homeowner. That marking is our advice, not a menu option. Doing such work yourself may be dangerous, may be illegal where you live, and may void your insurance or warranty.
You are responsible for deciding whether you are able to perform a task safely, for using proper tools and protective equipment, for turning off power, gas and water where a guide says to, and for calling a professional when in doubt.
10. Warranty disclaimer
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that identifications, schedules or guides will be correct or suitable for your appliances.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Fixiv Solutions, Inc. and its officers, employees and suppliers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, property damage, personal injury, or loss of profits, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, or from anything you do or decline to do in reliance on it, even if we have been told such damages are possible. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for Fixiv Premium in the twelve months before the claim arose. Some jurisdictions do not allow some of these limitations; where they apply, our liability is limited to the extent the law permits.
12. Termination
You can stop using Fixiv and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if we are required to by law, or if we discontinue the Service. If we close your account for breach, you are not entitled to a refund of any subscription period, which in any case is Apple's to grant. Sections 4 (training use, as described), 5, 9, 10, 11 and 13 survive termination.
13. Disputes and governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that we cannot resolve informally (please email us first; we will try) will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
14. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms we will post the new version at fixiv.app/terms and update the effective date. For material changes we will tell you in the app or by email before they take effect, and where the change affects how we use your content we will ask you to agree again. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept it.
15. Apple
The app is distributed through Apple's App Store, and Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies in addition to these terms where the two do not conflict. Apple is not responsible for the app, its content, or any claim relating to it, and is a third-party beneficiary of these terms with the right to enforce them against you. You confirm that you are not in a country under a U.S. government embargo and are not on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
16. Everything else
These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest stands. Our not enforcing a term is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer this agreement; we may transfer it as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case we will tell you.
